Carlos
„Certain past vintages of this La Mancha Cabernet Sauvignon have been a little green and lacking. But in 2004 the wine is ripe and Californian in style. It smells of spice cake, berry jam and cassis, while the palate is grabby and mildly tannic, with molten black fruit flavors. Finishes a bit medicinal and sweet.”
Dominio de Valdepusa Emeritus 2003 - 92/100 Punkten
„Hiding behind Grinon's impressive 2004s is the ultrapremium blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah. Emeritus is sweet and ripe with pipe tobacco, cassis, spice cake and chocolate aromas. It's immense and inviting, with grabby, plump blackberry fruit along with cinnamon, mocha and cola notes. Creamy, rich and almost unctuous. Drink over the next five years.”
Dominio de Valdepusa Syrah 2004 - 93/100 Punkten
„There are more similarities than differences among the Griñon varietal roster, but a favorite has to be this dense and meaty Syrah. While not the most savage or iconoclastic Syrah on the market, it excels with a delicious plum and berry palate and searing intensity. It's all fruit and power, but in that style it's quite something.”
Dominio de Valdepusa Emeritus 2004 - 91/100 Punkten
„The winery spells it Petite Verdot, and the wine shows tight aromas of black fruit, leather and mushroom. The palate is deep and very ripe, with full force blueberry and blackberry flavors. A little edgy and tannic, but immensely ripe and pleasent, just like all the Marques de Grinon 2004's. Good now and better in 2009-10.”
